Fit Minds Cognitive Coach Certification Program

This course is designed to train professionals in the delivery of
cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) to individuals with some
form of dementia or other cognitive impairment.

Although specifically developed for delivering the Fit Minds®
programs, the course gives participants the tools to develop their
own CST approach.

The course consists of five modules. Each module ends with a
quiz. The course is completed by a certification exam and final
project.

Each quiz and the certification exam require a passing grade of
70%. The final project is a pass/fail.

Course Details:
In Module One: Taking A Coach Approach, we look at the under-
lying philosophy of the Fit Minds® program, as well as law,
ethics, communication tips and techniques and dealing with
challenging behaviour.

In Module Two: Understanding the Science, we take a broad
overview of the scientific research on brain fitness and more
particularly the research behind cognitive stimulation therapy.
The relationship between dementia and sleep disorders is also
covered.
